Mission Dhruv
Mission Dhruv is a personal initiative driven by the belief that science—especially the wonder of space—should be accessible to everyone, regardless of background or location.
Vision
To create a global community where every person, regardless of background or location, can
explore the universe’s wonders. We bridge the gap between cutting-edge astrophysics and
accessible learning, empowering the next generation of scientists, thinkers, and dreamers to
reach for the stars.
Significance of 'Dhruv'
In Indian mythology, Dhruva was a determined prince whose unwavering devotion led Lord
Vishnu to transform him into the Pole Star (Dhruva Nakshatra).
Inspired by the steadfastness that guides explorers through darkness and the eternal presence of a fixed point in the ever-changing sky, Mission Dhruv seeks to embody the quiet inspiration that perseverance can lead to understanding. It aims to be a steady light in science education, humbly helping learners find their own direction as they explore the cosmos.
Meet the Founder
Taarak Harjai is a 12th-grade IBDP student at The Doon School who believes astronomy should inspire everyone, everywhere. His curiosity about space and engineering led him to create Mission Dhruv—a project designed to bring the cosmos to learners who rarely get access to scientific resources.
At school, he contributes where he can: supporting STEM peers through the NEST science society, helping shape discussions as a Deputy Secretary-General for DSMUN 2025, and exploring creative design for the Infinity mathematics magazine. As a School Prefect, he focuses on listening and uplifting others’ voices.

Taarak Harjai
Founder
Mission Dhruv reflects Taarak’s hands-on approach to problem-solving—combining simple materials like metal pipes with projectors to build portable planetariums. He’s still learning through every iteration, guided by teachers and community feedback. Beyond academics, he enjoys cricket, football, and experimenting with 3D design—reminders that collaboration and diverse perspectives make meaningful change possible.
Mission Dhruv is his small effort to ensure no child’s curiosity about the universe goes unanswered.
